Excellent write-up. What's the book on Welsh? Seems to have some pretty nice size and can score. Can he skate, play physical?

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it...now tell your friends

Welsh is quite physical and a dominate player. After his performance in the East Regional, many of us felt he was overlooked in the Hobey discussion because he can literally carry the team on his back and take control of a game.

I did one minute later.

I can't see a guy like that going back to school unless he is one of those diehards that realizes hockey might not last for ever. How is his two-way game, would it be enough to make him a solid two-way third liner if the offense didn't come as easy in the NHL?

Just depends on what the offers are.....I don't see him leaving for an AHL deal, but if he can swing a two way ELC with a club that has opportunity, I don't see why he'd stay.

Given their size discrepancy this might be a bad comparison, but last year after another stellar season everyone thought Jack Connolly at UMD would go pro and forgo his senior year, but while there was a ton of interest, no one made him an offer. Could end up being a very similar situation with Welsh. This weekend could be huge for him and a deciding factor for many scouts/GMs.

Hi Julie,

I was wondering if you had any update on if and where Andrej Sustr would sign.
